Showcomms have supplied two Peltor Dect-Com systems to Ocean Choice of Canada for onboard communications.The two vessels being fitted with the Dect-Com units are the Kinguk and the Aqviq. Both of these are primarily for prawn and shrimp fishing in Arctic areas. They are 50 metres long with onboard processing decks for sorting, cooking and freezing shrimps.
Ocean Choice already had a Dect-Com system on another boat that had been fitted in Iceland, and as they said to Bruce when considering purchasing the further systems:
It works very well and we are thinking of expanding our communications on our other boats to make use of this technology
